My name is Erika Kehl. I have been called to serve as the 1st and 2nd
grade teacher at your school (St John's Lutheran)! I look forward to
meeting you all! Here is a little more about myself to help you get to
know me.
I was born in Rhode Island but spent most of my childhood growing up
in Antigua where my father was a pastor. I attended the St John's
Lutheran School in Antigua for my elementary years. During my high
school years I attended Luther Preparatory School in Watertown. Right
before my sophomore year my family moved to Deltona, Florida. Upon
graduation, I was able to attend Martin Luther College and once again my
family moved. This time even further North to beautiful Milwaukee. Now
that I have graduated I am once again able to live in Milwaukee! I've
enjoyed each place I've lived for different reasons and I feel blessed
to have experienced so many different locations and cultures!
A little about my family...My father, David, is a pastor currently
serving as the Administrator of Adult Discipleship at the Synod
Headquarters while my mother, Joan, teaches 4-year old Kindergarten at
Atonement in Milwaukee. My older sister, Heidi, has been married for
almost a year now to Eric Hansen, a Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary student.
This past year Heidi taught Kindergarten at Risen Savior on the North
side of Milwaukee. Eric will be serving his vicar year in Algoma,
Wisconsin. My younger brother, Jonathan, will be a Junior at Martin
Luther College studying in the Pastor Track. The youngest of my siblings
is Lisa, who is going to be an eighth grader at Atonement Lutheran
School.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, outdoor activities,
singing, drawing and watching the TV series LOST. I also enjoy Jazz in
the Park and other recreational activities that Milwaukee has to offer!
I hope this gave you a little glimpse of myself. Thank you so much for
your thoughts and prayers! I look forward to meeting you!
In Christ,
Erika Kehl
