I grew up in the town of Stevensville MI, which is only five miles away from Lake Michigan. Summers were the best there going to the beach and hiking the dunes. My schooling included St. Paul’s in Stevensville from kindergarten to eighth grade and then on to Michigan Lutheran High School. In high school I chose to spend most of my time with music in band and the touring auditioned choir. In the fall of 2008 I attended MLC for five years focusing on high school physical science and elementary education. My love of music continued there in wind symphony and college choir. Apart from my studies at MLC I took trumpet lessons, taught myself guitar, played casual ultimate frisbee, and met my wife Claire.
I was called to St. John’s to teach fifth grade for the 2014-2015 school year and that is where I am today thanks to God’s grace and wisdom. I am also able to teach the upper grade science classes from fifth to eighth grade. Now-a-days you can find me singing in choir, playing trumpet in church, recording video of the services, taking pictures, and making Youtube videos for the church and school.
My Hope for St. John's School
My hope for the school is that we continue to hold our students to a high level of excellence in their attitudes, behaviors, and academic undertakings. I pray our teachers, administration, and staff continue to work together as Christian brothers and sisters and that God will lead us to see the joy of working with our students and the importance of sharing the Gospel with them.
